That Reunion

Sep 01, 2004 in Diary-writer

Oh. Yeah. We had THAT annual reunion again this year. Last year I didn't go because i was up North with Jece dearie, but this year we decided to visit Seoul Bulgogi again (the food isn't that great but the atmos is pretty cool for a reunion of sorts).

Oh food. It was so so. Not as nice as the people.

Oh the people. Nice nice people. Yeah we're all grown up now, and once-in-a-year-where-every-one-will-appear type of reunions are always a good reason to spend more.

Didn't manage to get any good pics. There were more than ten of us so speaking to each other at the same time wasn't really possible, and we were all too busy tucking in, and trying to avoid the oil from splashing all over. Lots of spitting from the EVIL teppanyaki thingy, especially when you want to try to turn this …

…into something palatable, or at least passable-lah, by dumping everything into this… amidst the squirms of oohs and aahhs and scrapping dried meat off a useless 'non-stick' plank (that thing they had on the fire-top was a useless, slanting sheet of metal that blasted exploding oil drops at every opportunity.

Anyway the place, in Pantai Plaza near the Federal Highway used to be pretty clean and nice, and offered free flowing soft drinks… now they cleverly charge RM3.00 for a plastic cup of processed iced emon tea!! If you wanted to cheat you'd have to rely on the Ice Cream or the Ice Kacang that they have on the side dishes buffet spread. Ice Kacang is usually fun to make, if you had control of the ice-shaving machine… this place just lumps a tiny hill of shaved ice into a huge plastic mixing bowl, so you'll have the fight with the rest of the kiasu 'I dont want to spend RM3.00 on a glass of water' crowd to get to the free ice.

And the end of it I came out further convinced that steamboat dinners are opportunities for men who would otherwise never enter the kitchen, to show off to their lady-loves a little. You know, occasions where he can actually say, 'Come I cook for you,' and then ask you if you like the chicken he cooked or not.

Yeah right. Other days also he never cook for me one. And chicken tastes like chicken, no matter how you cook it.

But anyway, more photos…

All Too Soon

It's back to work for minishorts. *sigh* Sad to say I'm not entirely satiated with pleasure yet. Did not get enough sleep, like I planned. Instead, overdozed on the sex and booze, and missed out on some fun rides here and there. Protection was amiss….

Wait.

Ok, this is a kid-friendly site.

You won't believe what a very good girl minishorts is. She's such a good girl, her boss actually approved her leave at the end of the month without nagging her. *shock* Horror of horrors.

And the boss actually seems pretty human today.

Now you see, I'm not too sure whether this is a good thing, or a bad thing. Minishorts personally didn't want things to become better, because she was hoping the big baboon would realize that the corporate world isn't really a place for unmarried oversized lecturers (sorry for being a stereotypist here), and leave for the academic jungle.

Alas, alas. Hopes have never been fatter–she saw the goof actually practising her skills… OMG. Spoke too soon. A huge Manual of Copy Editing, and slips of editing conventions scattered around the desk, amidst that horrendous-looking bhai mug.

I shall say my peace, for peace comes dropping slow. Very slow in this case. But it is welcome, nonetheless, as peace will always be.

Crap.
