Desserts in HK

a bowl of 'things'

Like I said, I'm not a fan of 'trying' things out. Actually, I'm rather moderate compared to the team in my office… I'm a fan of tripe, I love trotter, and I take any type of seafood (I'm a seafood-lover).

I'm quite okay with desserts… but they brew up strange concoctions in Hong Kong. This one above is an obscene combination of coconut milk, sago, nata de coco, pomela flesh (or grapefruit, I don't know), mango puree and mango flesh. The result is absurd, it's not exactly a bang that hits you the moment the soup spoon reaches your lips… you pause and wonder whether this intake of whatever will spoil your appetite (at least, I stopped and wondered that), and then you know you can't take it.

And mind you, it's not cheap! 18 HKD for a bowl of this, and even Daryan refused to finish it.

I am not a fan of desserts, more so concoctions that are richly coconut. But I know this concoction will sell well in Malaysia, going by what my friends and colleagues eat.
