Ed was referring to me when he spoke of your obsession on crystals.

Oh yes, I believe in these things. After all, they give me a reason to be distracted once in a while, and also a considerably interesting and spiritual method of looking at things.

It also helps that whenever I walk into an exquisitely well-planned crystal boutique, I feel an immensely soothing aura that seems to wrap itself around my entire being. Just like yesterday, when Mummy and I decided to go crystal-hunting. (Mum's an avid crystal enthusiast. She's also a huge Lilian Too fan! :lol:) We went to two shops, the first was quite a confusing place?I felt distressed and uncomfortable, eager to run out. The second was inviting, and the moment I stepped in, I felt as if I belonged there forever.

So now, besides my must-wear quartz bracelets (I pair a string of rose quartz beads with another string of clear quartz beads) around my left wrist, Mummy's got me a pwetty little pink stone sitting near my heart chakra. The rose quartz has rather telling functions: emotional healing, soothing the restless soul, promoting forgiveness, calming the broken soul… all that spiritual nonsense and bull. But believable, nonetheless, especially if you're someone as emotional as I am.

I've worn the rose quartz beads on my wrist since 1999?my Tua Ee (oldest aunty, mother's side) gave them to me the moment I graduated from high school. She had bought a long strand of good quality quartz, strung them into a few bracelets, gave them to her young, 'fresh out of school', daughters and nieces. What happened to two of the bracelets were rather incredible. My younger cousin's beads turned completely clear, they're now akin to clear quartz. Mine started to lose their transparency… you'll only notice a slight translucency if I allowed you a close-up look at them. Its not longer possible to see through my beads.

I like to tell the story of why I started believing in them. You see, I wore the beads for almost three years, and then one fine day, I decided I was too old and worldly to wear these things. I took them out and started to go 'bare'… so to speak. A month later I lost a very long and fulfilling relationship.

It took me about 2 months after that break to find my bracelet again. After putting them on, it was as if healing was expedited. I never took them off after that, except on certain nights where I would hang them over Mum's cleansing clusters (we have several clusters at home).

Anyway I sometimes do wonder if things would be a little different if my beads didn't snap and roll all over the floor earlier this year. If I had immediately purchased the pairing clear quartz bracelet (clear quartz is said to amplify the power of other crystals) after the beads snapped apart…

What I know is… I think I'm more forgiving then I used to be, many many years ago. So let's just concentrate on forgiving, yeah? That's a good way to withstand the stones that are headed my way.
