Striving to be in control

Mar 02, 2005 in Gender-bender

Not many of us admit it but most girls would have been brought up with a confusing notion that men are existent on earth to be controlled by women. Snippets of such conversations are often heard over cafe tables.

'He's got *urgh urgh* … disgusting…'
'Aiyah… why like that one..'
'DUnno lah… but have to do something about it.'
'Yeah must teach him how to do it right…'

Stuff like that.

Mum, Ma, Mummy, Ah Ma, Mother, they all used to teach their little daughters who've just reached puberty,

'When you find Mr Right and you're about to get married, make sure he learns this and this and this… then only he will know how to take care of you… you know lah, men dunno anything one…'

Uh huh. So true that men are such idiots. So true that the smartest beings on earth must be of feminine gender, and we're the brainy ones, we're the ones who know how to call for equality.

You, go and listen to women talk about men together, and come tell me, which part of the conversation spells a call for equality for you?

Na-ah. Hate to be honest, hate to crucify my own sex, but well, the only thing that's so equal about women and men would be their needs to overtake each other. Like … way … way… bad.

I'm still learning to not manipulate. But what to do. It's called bad upbringing.

Right so this is a truncated-into-sections kind of post. What to do. Almost two a.m. liao. I tell you what, tomorrow night when I'm all alone at home I'll see what I can do to further explicate my distrust of my own feminine characteristics. Promise.

Meanwhile I will try my best not to tell Eric that I prefer him driving with two hands on the steering wheel instead of one.
