Hi. If you didn't know me already, this is a good start.

I'm minishorts. I don't wear hotpants.

Minishorts as in mini (small), shorts (pendek). I'm not short, btw. I'm almost 5″6′. Minishorts actually means: small and short blog-posts. Au contraire, my posts can be very long. That's because they're not for reading. They've been online since 2002, and that's pretty long ago.

This space is for me to say the things that I can't otherwise say in real life. Because if I said these things in real life, people will look at me one kind and think I am crazy.

Maybe I am crazy.

By the way, you are actually not welcome here, but maybe like the rest of the world you just want to pop by and spill your thoughts too. Up to you lah. I'm all for freedom of speech. Because I'm so kind I always leave a space for you to say something in retaliation to what I say.

UPDATES (May 26, 2005)

My posts are spread out in seven categories, for easy browsing. They're not exactly genius material (though some say so), but reading them should give you an idea of the kind of person I am.

General takes you to posts that don't exactly have a significant theme.

(S)he deals with my views and opinions regarding human behaviour, especially when dissected into man and woman behaviour.

Blogs stores a crapload of bullshit that reflects my reactions towards the blogosphere. Usually good, but sometimes bitchy. Some bloggers get killed by me in here.

Rant, because I'm a girl and I rant a lot. So sue me.

Life proves that I can be insightful and melancholic sometimes.

Personal. 'Nuff said.

Bedtime Stories are my worktime escapades. I write for a living and sometimes the job gets on my nerves. All fiction, very explicit.

UPDATES (July12, 2005): Linking Me

I don't do Link-Exchange. In my posts I oft talk about other blogs that I read in passing or that I find impressive or that I feel is very worth a visit. So don't write to beg me to link you. If you link me, thank you very much! I'm glad to be of some skewed value to your otherwise boring day.

You can link me with this mini-banner these buttons for now. If I have the time I'll make some more. Or if anyone wants to donate your skills to make me some linkables can oso. I'll dedicate a grand big post to you if I like the gifts.

Self-made

I used to really like your blog that I recommended it to my friends, but then, I noticed you’ve since become more bitter and less like the minishorts I knew when I started reading your blog almost 2 years ago.
What happened? Stress at work? Personal crisis? I don’t know, but I hope that you’ll revert back more to your ‘old’ self… or maybe you’ve never changed at all and it’s just me who doesn’t really know you - hmmm… oh well..

I’m not criticising you in any way, ya? Just my 2 sens worth… Cheers, all the best to you!

  2. Dirty Dwarf Says:

You could at least wear a loose fitting shirt to go with your minishorts….

    Cheers~

Well, guess i am the same with ‘Empty’ then. I heard of blog here blog there for quite sometime until these BLOGGING thing were featured in the Star In.Tech column recently so i guess i should drop by your site to have a look. Pretty nasty and influencing coz i love designing websites. I have my own too but it was kicked off when i finally graduated (i utilize ma’ U.N.I’s).

Blogging is cool to replace the ol’ practise of writing on papers and kept for ourselves to read or perhaps until someone found it !! Blogging makes you find new friends with the same attitude and emotions and say-what-you-want-to-say.

    Keep it up!

  7. Fong MC Says:

    Dear Ms Khoo,

I am writing to you as a parent of two young adolescent children regarding the recent article in the Star newspaper regarding your blog and the follow-up ‘discovery’ of your web-site by my children.

I was initially glad my children developed a keen interest in finding out more about the web-logs phenomenon. In addition, I have never make any attempt to limit or censor websites as I believe my kids should have the freedom to discover what is wrong or right following discussion.

I have no reason to suspect the newspaper may have overdone itself this time. I was flabbergasted to discover your blog contained profanities and unsuitable materials for children. Perhaps this is an oversight on the part of the Star newspaper but the cat is out of the bag.

I feel you do bear some of the responsibilities for this. By allowing yourself and your website to be highlighted in a national newspaper, you have knowingly and willingly allowed children to have access to your website which you clearly know contained unsuitable materials for young minds.

Perhaps this query should be directed to the newspaper and not to you at all. After all, I accept your right to have your own personal opinions and your private space. It is not in my place to judge you; in fact, I have no interest in visiting your site. As you have said, I am not even welcomed here.

Be that as it may, kids will be kids. In fact my daughter look up to your blog as a role model blog. Hence, as a parent to my loved ones, I would like to implore you to re-consider your approach to your blog now that you are known nationally. I am not asking you to change. But please think of the young ones. Do not sacrifice simple decency on the altar of individual rights of expression.

    Sincerely
    Fong MC

Hmmm…..”But please think of the young ones. Do not sacrifice simple decency on the altar of individual rights of expression”

    Good point though!

  9. ries Says:

The web’s free for anyone… Parents who want to censor websites should sit next to their children, my mum did; no longer does.

Read ur blog after The Star thingy.. =) Another link to add… *mental note pasted*

Long live bloggers, long live minishorts~

  10. Carrotium Says:

..i sort of stumbled across your blog.
really interesting… will continue exercising visitation rights

    *sighs* ^^

  11. Pontianak Says:

Why does a pretty girl not show her face

  12. Bigjoe Says:

My two cents worth about you because I suspect there is a big part of you that seek the truth about yourself

    1) You have talent but mostly you are well trained.

    2) You are many things but really seek to be something amazing in just a few things

    3) You can’t decide what are the few things you want to be amazing at. You may not know even which ones you can be and someone sold you a piece of crap that you have to as if missing out that one great thing you can be is a personal shame.

    4) You are still very very conflicted by what you should and should not be despite your irreverance and some of those shoulds/should not are traditional and those traditions you feel and don’t fully understand and still yearn to.

You are probably many more things but here is one thing I leave behind: You are more than at least 99.99% of what the rest of the world could ever hope to be.

Hey, just got your comment… You know what? Let’s just forget the whole thing lah. So trivial.. no need to blow it up or whatever. =)

Sorry abt mistakening you for a guy.. I actually did try to find your profile but it must have slipped my eye (not used to the little icon you’ve used instead).. paiseh.. I just wanted to share the info (& ur video was pretty cool).

You said the Malaysian audience is “reeling from what another Singaporean has done to us”? What do you mean by that? Care to enlighten me or pass me a link? This is really interesting.

    Anyway… Singaporean/Malayasian/whatever.. U know, nationality really doesn’t and shouldn’t matter.

    Peace! =)
