Here’s the news.

Oh its no biggie. The first one is the announcement of me rejoining the rat race. Officially. So I'm no longer a free agent. So I'm no longer enviable. I'm back into the horrible grips of the employer's market. Urgh. Should I celebrate?

Actually after a month of contemplating my status, being employed may not be that bad after all.

The not-so-good news is the fact that I'm seated directly under the central air conditioning vent. This means where I'm sitting and typing, it is FREEZING. My keyboard, no matter where I place it, will leave my fingers directly under the scrutinization (if air conditioners could do that) of the cold cold air, and today, my digits turned blue after just five minutes of pecking.

And as if that isn't bad enough, on days and times when the central air-conditioner is plugged off, there's another cassette-installed air-conditioner (to provide comfort conditioning), and that bloody machine's vents are also, surprise surprise, directly facing my desk.

I think I'm doomed to lead the life of a tropicalized Eskimo.

Eekk … how do you type when you’re freezing ? I can’t even move my mouse properly the last time I sat directly under an air conditioner in a cyber cafe.

    Congratulations? :)

Try asking Management to turn up the temperature. Tell them that otherwise, your productivity will be adversely affected.
