Come let’s sing a song
Today, children, we shall all learn a famous song. 'I've been working on the railroad'. My kindergarten teacher taught me this song over 20 years ago and until today, it is still very very famous! Remember to sing it loudly and clearly!
I've been working on the railroad
All the livelong day
I've been working on the railroad
Just to pass the time away
Can't you hear the whistle blowing
Rise up so early in the morn
Can't you hear the captain shouting
Dinah, blow your my horn
Dinah, won't you blow
Dinah, won't you blow
Dinah, won't you blow your my horn
Dinah, won't you blow
Dinah, won't you blow
Dinah, won't you blow your my horn
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Someone's in the kitchen I know
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Strumming on the old banjo, and singing
Fie, fi, fiddly i o
Fie, fi, fiddly i o
Fie, fi, fiddly i o
Strumming on the old banjo
See, I told you it was a very nice song. Now you can sing it in bed to your girlfriend (and pretend that her name is Dinah).
Add on: I realized that some may not have heard this song before. Apologies. Here's a link to the mp3 as sung in a-cappella. It's only part of the song, but it's the only sung-to mp3 I can find. And they way they sing it makes it even funnier.

i’m 25. i guess coming from a chinese methodist kindergarten does have its drawbacks. suanie posted some old songs before, but i only recognized one, i think. the only songs i can remember from my kindergarten is a mandarin sing-along about some handicapped tigers with missing eyes and tails. i’ve always thought that it was kinda sadist for a kiddie song. btw, if i remembered correctly, the school only started teaching english in standard 3 (that’s how it works, ain’t it?). before that, the only english words i know were you, and, i, know, bad, it’s, thriller, and the name michael jackson.

naji: yeah. i know what its like too… anyway if jk rowling decided to turn to chick lit i’ll probably be rather disturbed for a bit as well. not that i’m anything like that billionnaire lah, but of course i still dream.
janus: TOLD you it was more twisted with that version.
