kim, s-kay: oh no lah. just someone asked me about how i feel about this whole thing, and why didn't i speak up yada yada... and i felt like ranting.

does it make me any lesser if i choose not to jump on the bandwagon? i'm not saying those people don't care, what i'm trying to say is, just because somme people like me choose to live around the corners doesn't make us any lesser than the ones who speak up.

also i rant because 'I CAN', more than most people, because I did stpm, I went to a local uni, am doing my masters at another local uni, i got my ptptn loans (and i don't have to pay back that one even though i'm chinese so go figure what happened) and i'm working on some projects with the MOE where the education syllabus seriously sucks. but they're there anyway and seriously, those being implemented overseas MAY only look hell better for the laymen, but comparatively, what we have now, it's just THE ONE that will accomodate all the other factors (pluralism, multiculturalism, and of course, the 80% majority who don't really realize the importance of education as much as most people, and as much as, especially, bloggers).

i didn't say its wrong to rant. this was a rant anyway. i'm saying its wrong to rant and stop at ranting. i mean, after ranting, do-lah something. too many rants make a person a whiner. now i'd rather be called a go-getter anytime of the day.

Well...kimberly does have her point there. Most post just to have their own views on the subject matter to be viewed by others in hope to make a difference even if the chances of it making a difference would be like 1:1 000 000 or maybe more? It doesn't matter how clever they sound or how dumb they sound because they have every right to do so (so long as they don't get in trouble with the ISA with it lah)

The reason why we have Dewan Rakyat is for our respected representatives to debate over what should be done for the citizen in this country. So even if you're no politician, you can talk politics...politics doesn't only cover topics that has got to do with typical political arguments but also the welfare of the country. When we say welfare, it concerns us..people like Kimberly, people like you and me. If no one talks politics and rants about what should and shouldn't be done, how else would the government know what should be improved and what should not if everyone keeps quiet because heck, they would prolly go "I'm no politician, why should I talk about politics" And why do they have political studies in the first place if normal people like us are not allowed to discuss politics. Do you think they send out online surveys to the people? It is not wrong to rant and to suggest so long as we have done our part as a Malaysian citizen.

forgive my simple mind, all i can deduce from this is that you think bloggers argue/complain/discuss for the sake of sounding clever. i can't agree more that are many such people on bloghospere and usually they're too quick on imposing their views ending up sounding dumb but of course they dunno lah. only the smart people know. so anyway, just wanna say some people talk/rant about politics n stuff cause they really think it'd make a difference. it's not that they wanna NATO (but with ISA and stuff like the DOE murder kinda scary whey)just in case some big shot main google abit he/she can see the nation's sentiment and hopefully make some changes. maybe im being idealistic but yeah, not everyone does it to sound cleverer-than-you.

what i was also trying to say is this:

so i'm a second class citizen, doesn't mean i need to live out my life by second-class ideals. or do such second-class things such as rant rant rant and complain.

i mean, once in a while its ok lah, but SO MANY TIMES? even nodding too much makes my neck hurt from the muscle strain. might as well get back to work and see what i can do to, tweak the system a bit.

the problem is people like to pass batons and teach other people how to lead life right, like, 'if i were the prime minister, i would do this this this.'

well the reality is, you're not the prime minister, you're here on earth (not necessarily malaysia) for a frigging reason, so now why don't you go and kau tim that reason first, then maybe we can sit down over coffee (80 sen one will do) and talk politics.

you know why i don't like to talk politics? because hell, i'm not a politician. that's why.

Guys and girls,

Every so often in the blogosphere, a person will make a sensible and realistic post. Well said minishorts *applause*

The most important thing is that we, as responsible citizens, should make a our contribution in whatever way we can, to make our lives more meaningful and our neighbourhood / society / country a better place to live.

Actually getting the small things done would be so much more valuable than ranting about how things should be or shouldn't be.

cheers
