nothing wrong with being Ah Beng mah.

Ah Beng is only a different TYPE of chinese. Much better than the other types in places like Bangsar who forget they are yellow… and think they are gwai-lou and totally disrespect their roots and traditions.

Aiks … I’m one of those anak sesat that would blur-ly ikut whatever that was chanted. In fact I would chant it as fast as possible hoping that the assembly will end ASAP before I become a friggin’ charcoal.

Oh, and I refused to be associated with being one of the “Ah Bengs” though. Sigh, those were the days …

I think singing national anthem in cinema is absolutely crazy. The idea is just about as great as stopping at toll gate during national day and singing Negaraku at midnight.

hell yeah… the medals! it was the same in my school… must be some ISO thingy in malaysian schools

i used to haf a teacher back in std 5 who screams, “You, monkey!”, every time someone could not answer her question. so we bought her a huge chinese new year card with a grining monkey embossed on it. it was, coincidently, the year of the monkey

The thing I enjoyed most in primary was the ‘raise the flag’ duty while students chanted the national anthem. LoL! It was dun because all three prefects needed to raise in synchonization.

The thing I hated most, having to go up and down stairs to just receive medals already distributed earlier. sigh..

I guess I’m not as Malaysian because I often decide to just stand still, keep quiet and watch the flag when everybody ruined the national anthem by singing it at different timing.

Hmmm…I was a silly parrot. But I was sombong and would correct the ‘chanter’ if he/she had any mistakes. I would kena a rap on the head for that and a xia ge li bai bu ke yi je yang le, zhi dao ma? I was from an SJK (C) too. Haha! Fun times lah!
