I hate this phrase: I blog for myself, it’s so self-effacing&contardictory. If thou write for thyself, don’t publish it in a public site, which a webblog is.

I hate another line: You sold out.
Moral policing by Skodeng Squad backed by Malaccca CM had a short life. Let’s leave thy moral judgements in eitheir the closet, or in the police torture chambers, or at the various religious institutions.

A small war is created by this “exchange”, but the resulting debate is productive, at least fostered in me a desire to put word to writing at thy blog — virginal stop. (PS:I posted this after visiting the other warrng party’s blog to get a balanced view.)

Actually… we do have a right to say whether you’ve sold out or not. It’s a value judgement, an opinion, and within rights of anyone who comes in to your blog.

You’re the only one who can say whether you write for yourself or not. No one else can actually say that. We can speculate, but saying it is your province.

It’s all opinion, isn’t it? Why do you care? You’re writing for yourself.
