Why Kuantan?

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005 @ 10:42 pm | Diary-writer

I promised photos. Now you promise me you must visit Kuantan.

(I suck at writing travel ads so forgive me for the lack of creativity).

Go to Kuantan because got nice things everywhere.

In the town, they have a nice big mosque.

Near the town they have beautiful beaches.

They also have very nice hotels, like the one I stayed at.

The Swiss Garden Resort along Balok Beach also has a very nice pool.

Kuantan has great coffee.

Order the ChocoFreeze. It's the Kuantan-ized version of Mocha Freeze, made with 100% pure Kemaman Kopi.

They also have great food (but how come I only get to see these kind of tai-chow styled cooking at night ah?).

Finally, the trip back was great because got nice cars to see.

Like, very, very nice. Almost wanted to hijack the entire fleet. Foooh!

I was born in Kuantan. Stayed there a couple of years before moving to Penang and then Subang. Love that place…it was fun staying there as a kid =) It has been years..prolly more than 10 since I’ve gone back there. There’s no one there left already hence no reason to go there. One day perhaps..shall drag Mr.BF for a road trip there

Ikan bakar is good near Tanjung Lumpur, cendol is great in Air putih and near Jalan Teluk Sisek, Zul satay is a Kuantan institution, kerepok lekor and pisang goreng with extra hot chilli is fantastic, wan tan mee used to be good but the shop keepers kept on charging higher and higher until my dad got fed up. Seafood head to Beserah for fresh fish or dried produce (also found along Jalan Besar at the pre war shoplots).
