Batik in Kuantan
The people in the Eastern Coasts of Peninsular Malaysia are famous for their batik. Kuantan is likewise, thought not-so-famous for their batik if compared to my Mum's hometown (Kelantan). Kuantan, IMHO is famous for its beaches, and of course, the muiheong salted fish.
But we still visited a batik factory along Balok Beach where they come up with gems. Like these.

A closer look would reveal the pretty pictures on the pieces of cotton stretched across the wooden frames.

We also took a video of this pakcik doing some print-batik. Eric found it unimpressive, 'A short-cut method,' or so he says. I still find it amazing.
Thanks to YouTube for the video hosting!
All right. That's about it… the photos from Kuantan. The rest are personal, the poses are rather compromising, and no bikini-shots of course. But we had our private jacuzzi and a see-through glass-shower cubicle across a 1 1/2 metre wide wall mirror… the bed was also big enough to fit 4 people comfortably.
I leave the rest to your wild imagination, something which I notice, isn't quite lacking in my readers. Thank goodness you're clever, thinking adults.
Or so I hope.

Don’t have to travel so far to Kuantan, if my memory serve me right, there is one batik factory near the Selangor Pewter (Now it’s called Royal Selangor) factory near Setapak.
Kuantan is mainly for the beaches (yes…that as well) and salted fish (”Tan Nau Kiam Herr”). The sea prawns there (especially the tough ones with giant head) is fantastic for the Seafood Tom Yam. Oh man…I am hungry already…

Did you try to fit 4 ppl in the private jacuzzi? Was there enough room for the water later? Pls explain clearly, coz I’m not a clever thinking adult today.
Oh, about the big bed: By 4 ppl, do you mean 2 asian couples or 1 asian couple and one mat salleh couple from next door? May I remind you that my wild imagination is not working today, so please explain clearly in detail, okay?

i luv batik ! was so much fun to do it in form 2

lucia: I don’t think the batik is meant to be gold and white. The gold color is really wax. The white cotton / silk is supposed to be dyed with colors later on. The wax prevents the dye from seeping into the design. The wax is later removed by heating and scraping.
