Adjusting
I am still adjusting to the new reality of being in my mid-twenties.
Eric thought I was a late bloomer. Hey, actually I am. I've yet to succumb to the fact that things are not the same anymore. A year ago meet-ups consisted of ONE round table, ten seats. Half a year later, its TWO round tables, eight seats each. Friends are now bringing partners to meet-ups, and you can expect to see these partners again, and again (previously, you wouldn't blink if a friend keeps on bringing someone new).
And then came that stage, of e-mails and group mailing list announcements.
'Please make April free next year, I'm getting married.'
'Dear all, I can't believe this, I'm in shock, I'm engaged! He proposed.'
Man.
I am so in shock.
Also I know lah, I'm about to get very much poorer. Let me see, 1, 2, 3… I have like 6 weddings to attend next year, and it's not even the end of 2005 yet!

And you find less and less people to talk to, because everyone’s busy talking to their partner. So far at least, I’m still not the odd one out, thank god.

When you hit 28 like me, you’ll be used to it. Hell, you can even joke about it too, ie You want me to be the best man/bride’s maid? or MC/musician? etc etc

9394: depends where lah. normal chinese restaurant like overseas, around 60-80 cukup. five star hotel dinner, around 120 per pax.

Nola I don’t think it’s the venue that counts. I think it’s your relationship with your friend. Like you might have the dinner in a mamak stall somewhere but I’ll still give you a nice angpow.

Anyhow, it does get a little “disturbing” for those who still single.’coz those with partners somehow alienate those w/o.

Anyway, you’re at that age - everything is a wedding, along with a few funerals and other things fillin gin your life for a short while.
Back when I got married in 1990, I was blamed with starting the whole ball rolling with all the other engagements and weddings which followed amongst my friends etc. I wonder how many followed us when we got divorced? lol
Anyway - expect a few years of engagements, marriages and other things. Happens around the mid twenties.
My motto - Get married young, leave plenty of time to find second partner after first divorce. lol

lol Well, it only became my motto after the divorce. I married for life … unfortunately, my Ex married for what she could get from me … so was a slight mismatch.
As I’ve previously said, she tried to insure me for $1 Million and kill me off … so I am lucky to be here today. Knowing my Ex, she would have been caught anyway if she did kill me off, so she would never have became a millionaire anyway! lol
But, it’s one of the reasons I am so picky with choosing wife number two. I have been single for the last nine years … so that might explain that. Wonder if it’s worth pimping me at all. lol Might be too late. I’m soooo old! Waaah! lol
