Oh whatever-lah

Getting this crap out of the way before Monday begins…

Don't you just hate hate hate hate soon-to-be-married folks who behave as if they're the only ones in the entire world who're in a relationship?

Stupid condescending attitudes these people have, let me let you in to a little well-known secret: Marriage is not the end okay? It's just the bloody beginning. LOTS OF MARRIAGES END UP IN SHAMBLES THESE DAYS, so stop being so bloody cocky.

  3. Jeremy C Says:

i know what you mean, Claire - i’ve encountered the same thing before.

hehe getting married is really like any joyous personal event, staying commited to each other….now that’s the real thing! :)

  5. minishorts Says:

kenny: seriously, you have to meet these people i’ve talking about to know I’M NOT JEALOUS or anything.

I mean, come on, it’s a happy event, and as friends, we’re all more than happy and joyful to share in the great news. BUT hell, some people can really act all holier-than-thou, it takes a tonne of an effort not to snap back at these people.

Oh Gosh! Marriage is no longer what is used to be. Now it’s just another excuse to bring all the single people out there down. Just wait la till something goes wrong, and see their reaction. Then you can thank your lucky stars you decided to wait.

yeaps most people forget to look beyond that one single day, or else think that everything’ll be honey n roses once they get married. and then there’s the ever-so-slightly pitying look when people get together and there’s a single single amongst all the supposedly blissful couples…

‘LOTS OF MARRIAGES END UP IN SHAMBLES THESE DAYS’

Is that where my marriage went! Shambles is in York, England isn’t it? … no wonder mine didn’t work, we were still in Australia!

My advice: unless you live in York, England, keep your marriage out of Shambles.

And to all you getting married, I have one thing to say, ‘Sucked in!’ Bwahahahaaaa! ;-)
    [Sorry, that's just a joke.]

BUT, if it makes you feel any better MS, it’s true that a lot of people getting married act as though the world revolves around them, but at the end of the day they still have a million things THEY need to do for the day … and lets face it, some weddings end up in Shambles … um … er … which is in York, England … er … yeah! :-)

I totally agree. It’s like teenagers who suddenly start talking about things from an authoritative point of view like they’re the first ones to discover athlete’s foot or crabs.

People like to blow up their own episodes because for that one brief moment in their life they are heading towards a surefire hit, something that is generically known to be a Moment. Like having your barmitzvah, graduation day, becoming a punk rocker, taking acid.

Marriage is still one of the institutions worldwide which is generally accepted to be a momentous occasion, sod the aftermath. I’d say just smile and remind yourself that in as little as six months, you could be consoling one of the parties with the old “all men/women are bastards”.
After marriage, life is like a 30 year-old woman’s chest. It all goes downhill and falls about the knees like a wrinkly water balloon, and not gracefully either. You have to flop them over each shoulder to tie your shoelaces….

Is it like those people who think hooking up is the biggest deal ever, and then they proceed to look down on all single people everywhere?

Yep. Encountered one such person before.

    Disgusting.
