It's like teenagers who suddenly start talking about things from an authoritative point of view like they're the first ones to discover athlete's foot or crabs. People like to blow up their own episodes because for that one brief moment in their life they are heading towards a surefire hit, something that is generically known to be a Moment. Like having your barmitzvah, graduation day, becoming a punk rocker, taking acid. Marriage is still one of the institutions worldwide which is generally accepted to be a momentous occasion, sod the aftermath. I'd say just smile and remind yourself that in as little as six months, you could be consoling one of the parties with the old "all men/women are bastards". After marriage, life is like a 30 year-old woman's chest. It all goes downhill and falls about the knees like a wrinkly water balloon, and not gracefully either. You have to flop them over each shoulder to tie your shoelaces.... I totally agree.
