Weekend musings
Just a lil' bit of the things that affected me last week.
The Pianist, you were asking. Did it work? Let's just say he showed me the missing piece of the puzzle. If the subject in pursuit is currently in another engagement, how would you regard the whole thing? Case on hold, but we still talk about it… and because he reads my blog more often now, I've to agree to keep it private for him.
…
And then I was talking to Kurt about how controversial posts bring about stupid reactions and he said, 'That's easy, just crap about sex, religion and politics… '
'I don't touch politics, but today shows you that if you touched both sex and religion….'
'That's easy, just say Christianity is fucked up…'
'ahahahhahaha'
Actually he didn't say Christianity, which makes the whole line funnier in a sad way.
…
One of the commentators actually came up with this ingenious gem, 'If you wanted your life to be private, why blog about it anyway?'
I thought I never heard such ignorance in such a long time. Do you want to bash him up? Never mind, maybe he didn't realize the difference between being an exhibitionist and being a blogger. There is a difference, you know? But those stupid stupid journalists who promote us in the papers always say that we're talking about our lives.
The key words are 'Part Of Our Lives'.
Oh come on, you don't need to have a blog to understand this basic difference. You know that woman you had to face in the office today? You had such a trying time, and you are just DYING to talk about it to someone. So you wait until you reach home and the first one you tell is hubby…. or maybe mommy… or sis… or someone close…
But do you really tell on about other parts of your life? Like how you discovered that rat behind the photocopier? Or how you found A* and B* kissing in the pantry? Or how you had that chat with C* about stupid project developments? Or how your other friend D* just gave you another invitation to her wedding? Or how, as you're walking out of the office, you spot a colleague speaking to an ex-employee, and suddenly that ex-employee looks at you and says, 'Hey you're minishorts right?'
Most of the above aren't true, of course.
But the fact is this, come on lah, I'm not even asking you to give us a break, because true, most of the time, we deserve this shit. But if you're going to come and probe on the private aspects of our lives, the parts where we don't want to show you, and if we opt to say, 'Well that's for me to know and you're not going to find out,' who's the bloody busybody here?
You see that pretty girl walking on the road with that knee high capri pants and spaghetti strapped top? She's hot right? There she is, walking on the road, with great hair and nice earrings. She looks like she's got a great figure too. And so maybe, you wonder, 'I wonder what's underneath there?'
Do you walk up to her and ask her, 'Come on, take off your clothes. I wanna see what's underneath,' ?
…
And then the most idiotic thing is some people actually think doing that is an honourable thing. They head off to other places and say, 'You know that girl deserves being 'RAPED', she shows off too much anyway…'
So tell me, when people like these start to feign morality and talk about how much they really care about the country, and provide facts about how governments are failing us, and walking around blasting off sarcastic kids (kids nonetheless but at least they don't pride themselves in raping women who show off their figures), and slandering other people's lives and how other people choose to spend their holidays and blabla bla…. WHY THE HECK DO YOU TAKE THEM SO SERIOUSLY ANYWAY?

Hey, I totally agree with you about how people always ask bloggers to not blog in order to keep our lives in provate! C’mon, we blog about things we feel like. So if you friggin don’t like what we have to say, just don’t bloody read it. We are so not publicising our lives here.
