You know many, many friends around me are on the verge of a change in their careers. Both Elaine and April just started at their new companies yesterday, and then others are either going to start working or, planning to quit soon.

And I forgot to say that I quit my job too! My boss accepted my resignation last week, and I AM SO DELIRIOUS! I've never, ever, felt this excited about quitting a job before… but then again, this isn't exactly my seventh or eight job… the last time I quit I was terribly upset because it hurt to decide I had to leave the company.

This time because I'm not exactly leaving, it's not that bad at all. In fact, the options are quite amazing… first of all my boss said that I could choose not to quit if I wanted to, 'In fact you might want to consider working from home whenever you feel that the office environment isn't conducive for your creative energy.'

And so I said, 'But then again, being tied down to employment is horrible for my mind. I'd much rather provide my services for the company on a freelance basis.'

He took to that quite kindly, thank God.

This is why it really rocks to be a writer. Heh.

Actually right now I really, really, really, need a break from writing as a vocation. Call it a sabbatical, if you may. This is one of those times when at least two weeks of complete FREEDOM from paced writing will help me charge up. I can't wait to bounce back.

I've got other plans up my sleeves, but well, I can't exactly reveal those things yet. It's sufficient to say that I'm still writing officially, less editing (actually I think it's almost a year since I did any real editing), and definitely, I'm feeling more relaxed these days.

Although I do realize that things like this don't last forever. Well, we'll see how things go as time plods along.
