Why do we get so stupid?
I've seen marriages breakdown far too many times because of the other woman. I don't know about you, but it sometimes beats me why a man is capable of inflicting so much hurt on another person, especially when that person is someone who has sacrificed at least 20 odd years to build a marriage. You know? Have kids and all, stayed with him through thick and thin, helped build a strong family while he built his careers.
I've known far too many women who started off having fantastic careers, and then somewhere along their marriages, decided it would be best to give it up for the family, and after that when the man's career goes steadily up the ladder, so does the marriage come spiralling down.
20 years, 3 children and a dog later, he walks into the house, out of the blue, and announces it, 'I've met someone else. I want to go with her. I'm divorcing you.'
Well, most women emerge strong enough to rebuild their lifes, and look back on what happened with a definite spat of bitterness. But I wonder, I wonder, why on earth do we get so stupid?
Why is it that a 25 year old girl, with plenty of things to run for in life, would settle down with a man who's old enough to be her father?
Is it the money? The promise of a shortcut to branded stuff? That Rolex on your hand? The range of LaMer facial products you get to sport on your table? The Chanel bag you probably would never get to own ever had you chosen to try to make it on your own?
And so you find it PERFECTLY all right to barge in, and take over the place of another woman? Just for the heck of materialistic needs like this?
Why did you get so stupid? Where's the dignity in being such a bitch?

You pose a very interesting question………
One that I had to think about for a long time before I could even come up with a theory as to why guys who have been long married choose to cheat……..
The easy and obvious answer is that guys lack self-control and don’t know how to properly deal with temptation when it comes their way in the form of a much younger, attractive female………..
To be honest, I’m sure that is true for many of the older, married philanderers……..
But I feel that that answer itself is incomplete………
Another reason perhaps that men cheat on wives that have sacrificed everything to be with them may be that such guys fail to truly understand the commitment of marriage and the importance of a family…..
Perhaps the cheating husbands fail to truly realize just how devastating an effect that cheating on their wives has on their children, or fail to realize that marriage is not a short-term commitment or one that only lasts while your spouse is still physically attractive.
Moreover, I think society these days, tv, etc. does not do its part to demonstrate divorce or broken families as the utter disaster they are.
Were these men to really realize the importance of their families, their wives, their children, and their legacy, I do not think they would cheat, no matter how attractive the woman.

Actually… I know a couple… young girl and older man (20 years difference)… very happily married. Although this is probably an exception rather than the rule… they do love each other… very much.
You can analyze the situation anyway you like… but he man has nothing to offer her. She’s probably better off with some young punk yuppie.
From what I can see… she’s with him because he brings comfort, balance and joy to her life.

My mum, who’ve slogged over 25 years for that excuse for a man loved him to bits. Even when he was fucking not one, not two, but three fucking indonesian woman, she still forgave him.

Many women think that after marriage, there’s no need to keep themselves beautiful and sexy and in shape anymore.
They think that the piece of marriage contract is enough to bind a man’s loyalty.

3. Bad attitude.

Anyway i think people cheat on their partners even tho they’ve been through all those years and sacrifices is because they lack appreciation. When ppl climb up higher in the ladder, they tend to forget their roots. And also the fact that when people make sacrifices, it’s a difficult thing because people also tend to forget - forget what the sacrifices were for, how or why it’s made. It’s a type of human error that frequently occurs when one does not use his/her head to think.

There’s no need for a debate on who’s right or wrong or who’s stupid - life and everything along with it are all just a gamble.
When you tie the knot with someone, you do not know if that person will remain faithful for the rest of his/her lives or when you step into a car, you do not know if you’ll die from an accident or when you take up a job offer, you do not know if the job is the right one for you etc etc.
You can decide not to risk taking the gamble and live a life that’s safe or take the plunge and see where it takes you.
IMHO, stupidity has nothing to do with it.

excuse me.. but i once read that love is only a chemistry or chemical whatever thing that can only last for 3 or 7 years ut whether it can last til the end of life or not, it depends on their attitude and whether they match each other or not.
