Necessary diversions.

Topic tadi terlalu hangat, terlalu sensitif, my apologies, so let's enjoy a little 'commercial break' for a bit.

Please note that in no way have I been paid for the following 'endorsement' of a particular restaurant. Shanghai-10, ???, resides at Telawi 2 in Bangsar, near where I work and it's my favourite Chinese restaurant at the moment. April blogged about this two weeks back, and since then we've gone back there twice. And oops, apologies for its being non-halal, but if you don't mind non-kosher, trust me, the food is really smacking good. With reasonable prices too.

I'll let the photos do the talking.

rainbow treasures porridge

prawn dumpling la mian, RM6.80. The same thing goes at Dragon-I for double the price.

super fresh prawns!

tuna yam rolls

prawn, squid and cheese roll

xiao loong pau!

leak-proof dumpling skin!

shanghai-10

I hardly do food reviews unless I like the food, but I'll give this place two thumbs up. One for being having more reasonable prices than the more expensive Dragon-I, and for having super yummy Xiao Long Paus with unbreakable skins!

Things only bloggers do. Haha. You should have included the adress here, even though it’s over at your friend’s pad. Will it burn a hole in my pocket?

The siew loong pau looks very big. Unbreakable skin is one thing but does it taste good?

The fried tapioca sheets thing is not bad too. Kinda like a “char kuey teow” with a difference.

Yeah mini, I totally get what you are trying to convey here. I understand. Well I think there’s a certain limitation and boundaries to it lor, boils down to personal choice. For me, I would not be bothered too much about the dragon sign on the restaurant or any Chinese restaurant for that matter because my intention is to dine and to eat a good meal. With me going to the restaurant, it doesn’t make me any less Christian at all. I believe my faith is stronger than a small picture or logo. Yes I do understand your point there. Bless you for that.

Another example for myself, I would not want to wear a T-shirt with a Big Dragon picture, because I think it’s a bit distracting too if I wear it to any church gatherings and I wouldn’t want to wear it anyway. It boils down to own personal choice.

This is the question I always asked myself, “whatever I do, say, wear, see, watch, does it reflect my faith, does it point people to God, does it show the love of Christ”….not easy to do it all the time, you know. But the point here is “try”, “want to try anyway”. My Christian faith is a journey to know Christ and to know the frailties of my being and the need to always rely on Him.

Better stop here. I’m just too long-winded.

I will definitely DROP by next week to have dinner there. The food looks really “heavenly”. Thanks for taking the time to intro this to us. appreciate your effort.

Bless you, mini, please continue what you are doing right now- churning mind and thought provoking entries. Bless you.

    Alvin

Thanks for the recommendation. Dragon-i is indeed very pricey plus there was nothing much to shout about in the taste department.

  17. Lainie Says:

AH! Porridge! Dragon-i….hmm. sounds like the one in sunway, kan? yeah they have nice chinese fast food-y type of stuff there.
