I met up with Scorkes and Vince for makan today. Had the privilege of listening to Scorke rant out her latest post in real life.

Then we remembered this made-in-Hollywood aphorism, 'Isn't it interesting… religious behaviour is so close to being crazy that we can't tell them apart.'

House said that in an episode where he had to treat a special (protestant) kid who claims to hear God speak. A season back, House treated a Catholic nun who believe that she would leave everything, yup, everything to God. When she refused treatment, House said this to her,

You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.

Now if only I had the guts to tell that line to my fundie-friends directly. That said, I must say I'm completely in awe of what Scorkes did to her friend. (Stood up, walked away, left poor friend sitting, mouth agape. )

If I were in her shoes, I'd probably sit till the very end nodding my head off and promising that I'll attend church ASAP and hope to God the woman will leave me alone. So, minishorts KOWTOWS to Scorkes!
