Lumut.

My first ever trip to Lumut and it wasn't to visit Pangkor (I've never been to Pangkor ever, btw). Instead I found myself here.

Welcome to TNB Janamanjung!

Coal, leading out to the ashpond area.

Coal buckets at the Manjung Jetty. HUGE stuff that scoops the coal out of the tankers onto conveyor belts that transport the coal all the way to the plant.

Check out the tanker. The red line indicates that the tanker is almost empty, I think?

It was a tiring, tiring trip. Only got home at 9.30 last night, and then we went off to Kapar again this morning.

I'm trying to upload a cool video for you guys to see. Coming soon.

I’ve never been to Pangkor either and my first trip to Lumut involved me going to a biomass plant - fun… NOT! The journey is horrible! Don’t envy you thats for sure but cute hat! :D

I’m from somewhere near Lumut and I don’t even know they have this power plant. Next round back must get myself updated. Btw, you look great in that hard hat.

The next round you are there, try some of the local chinese food. Namely Gong Pian, kampuan mien and fish maw with sea cucumber cooked Foochow style.

    Wow! Exclusive pictures!

    That’s a huge plant, I must say.

As for the tanker, I think that is the water line???

I’m sure you must have done a great job. You always seem to be a happy and upbeat person in both your entries and your pictures, so I am sure that those photographers and news reporters were lucky to be able to work with you.

I know this is expired, but those were nice pix.
The red line is what we called the statutory load line, or the summer load line. Indicates the maximum loading draft the vessel, plying on the summer area. Ask the popeye about it… Cheers mate…

Manjung & Lumut area sure is nice. Being out at the jetty head 2km away from shore arouses the feel good senses and relaxes the mind. Did you get that quiet sense of marvel standing there at the jetty looking around and back to the plant? Did you know that dolphins have been sighted at the jetty head? Saw with me own eyes- was such a pleasant surprise. Also saw the first little sandfill appearing from the sea giving birth to the plant site. Had nice memories of the place at a time when the nation was in absolute gloom.

Get yourself on a trip to the Tg Bin plant- by boat from PTP. The marine environments with PTP and especially the contrasting tranquility going up the smaller rivers lined with mangroves is an experience. But it won’t be so for long.
