Its okay to attribute God.

Dec 22, 2006 in God-worshipper

Personally I feel it's okay to attribute God, even in speeches you give at obviously secular events.

But. Hmm…

When there are skeletons in the closet, obvious ones that a fair bit of people are aware of, best not to attribute God.

There's a line in the bible that mentions that Jesus loves the one who prays in private. I'm bad at memorizing verses, but there is a line that says so, I'm sure. This is where I suppose we should all be very cautious in walking the thin line, you know, you don't want to topple over to the dark side. And I quite agree with the saying that pride comes before a fall.

Ha ha no one knows what I'm rambling on about, so guess away.

And btw, I'm back. It's the winter solstice isn't it? Happy 'guo-dong!'

Why we love them

Dec 15, 2006 in Curse-spouter

I could never understand why successful, independent, beautiful and intelligent young women could get attracted to men who're the complete opposite of them.

Your average corporate queen, the one who takes home a five-figure salary and drive her own Honda Accord, living and sleeping in a house of her own, would be willing to take in the average fresh-out-of-school kid who's barely out of his mother's apron-strings.

Its like the demi moore-ashton kutcher fiasco. Not that Ashton Kutcher is less successful than Demi Moore, but I've always believed that Moore was better off single, than mothering her partner.

There's two types of women, in general. The one who wants to be pampered, fussed over like a kid. The type who likes to be spoiled by her man.

And there's the other type. The type who's the mothering kind, who likes to pamper and fuss over her belongings… who likes to spoil her man.

I know I'm the first. I don't understand why anyone would want to be the second type. I'd rather be single than have a man live off me. Because I'm equally capable, I want nothing less.

Off to Kenyir, and others.

Dec 15, 2006 in Diary-writer

Following last week's visit to the coal-fired plants in Manjung and Kapar, I'll be off to Terengganu next week to see the hydroelectric dam at Kenyir.

Think about that! Three power stations in two weeks!!

My very first Amazon.com orders finally arrived on Monday, in perfect condition. Order the book How (Not) To Speak of God by Peter Rollins. I've been thinking about my leanings, and denomination, if any, and you know what? I quite believe that I'm closest to the Emergent Church. There, definitely controversial, almost heretic.

I do feel very comfortable with this label though.

I'm pathetically broke. PATHETICALLY. Because I've only been at this company for 6 months, I'm not layak to receive a bonus. I left my last company without waiting to receive my intensive… which makes it the third year in a row where I do not receive any extra salary apart from the usual 12-month-take in.

I wish someone would actually donate some money to my Paypal. And then write to me to tell me how to take that cash out.

Aihsh. So shameless. I take that back.

I quite believe it's about time to build up on my resolutions for 2007. I must get to that, like, right now.

Later.

Lumut.

Dec 12, 2006 in Diary-writer

My first ever trip to Lumut and it wasn't to visit Pangkor (I've never been to Pangkor ever, btw). Instead I found myself here.

Welcome to TNB Janamanjung!

Coal, leading out to the ashpond area.

Coal buckets at the Manjung Jetty. HUGE stuff that scoops the coal out of the tankers onto conveyor belts that transport the coal all the way to the plant.

Check out the tanker. The red line indicates that the tanker is almost empty, I think?

It was a tiring, tiring trip. Only got home at 9.30 last night, and then we went off to Kapar again this morning.

I'm trying to upload a cool video for you guys to see. Coming soon.
