Spinning around…

Thursday, February 1st, 2007 @ 9:58 pm | General

This is a friendly reminder to all readers to be extra careful the next time you're on the NPE. People who speed on the highways have simply no regards for manners, and they sent me a-spinning.

Considering the accident occurred at 7.50 am on Wednesday peak, I'm just glad I didn't hit (or got hit) and that I left the place unscathed except for the muscle pull…

Now not only do I not have a car for the next two months (thanks to the insurance claims processes and the coming New Year), I'm also going to lose my NCB! And the whiplash is killing my neck, I can't even pull myself out of bed without feeling a sharp pull on my neck muscles.

Oh sniff, my car!!

Sweet Jesus!! Well the fact that you actually took a picture and blogged about it can only mean one thing.

Glad that means you’re alright. :)

  2. eyeris Says:

And you sempat take a picture of it right after the accident lagi…

anyway, good that you came out unscathed. hope you’re feeling better now. :)

Well I was waiting for the toll-truck, the police was there, and they said, ‘Ada kamera tak? Ambik gambar untuk claims insurance lah!’ so I did the obvious…

And yeah my camera’s always in my bag…I’m glad I’m alive too… ^_^ but my car, oh my car!

  3. Darren Says:

Believe me, you wouldn’t want to stand next to a stalled car by the side of a highway.

  4. Ricky Says:

Poor minishorts. Get a 4WD, you wouldn’t even know when you get hit.

  5. Mei Says:

the last time i had an accident, the police didn’t accept the pictures i took with my own camera. even though my car could not be driven already, they insisted that i get a tow truck to tow it over to the police station, so that their own officer could snap a picture of it. sigh.

  12. spot Says:

Can’t see the picture from my office browser, but the description is enough…glad you’re ok. Better the car than the car AND you.

  13. dreamer idiot Says:

    Feel better soon…

PS. maybe get a neck pillow or something

  14. Kurt Says:

    Good that you’re OK.

  15. daniel Says:

Glad you are alright and not too badly shaken.

Make sure your police report and claims documents are in order, then bug the insurance people everyday until they send the adjustor to assess the damage and approve the claim. Maybe your insurance agent could help expedite the process.

  16. Emmanuel Says:

Money can be earned again, most important is that you’re alright. My car met with a similar accident and well, the number struck no2 in 4D 1 day later, so you never know….

  17. viewtru Says:

Your car does not have a number plate.

  18. Rob Says:

Thank God that you are okay…

But the car chassis looks untouched… can still see that main ‘bone’ protruding…

  21. Ayah Says:

    that’s bad….

  22. Paul Says:

That really was some accident! Glad you’re okay though.

  23. Alx Says:

Hi MS, hope you are alright, get a good chiropractor to look at your whiplash. The insurance co. of the other party should pay up for the bill but perhaps tell them of your intent first. Last time I had a whiplash from someone who was at fault, the insurance paid for my treatment with chiropractor, a rental car, some compensation for my car, and for my pain and suffering from the injury.

  24. Sunflower Says:

Hey babe, soooooo glad that you’re okay. The pic is damn scary.

As for insurance, when I had an accident two years ago I had AAM tow my car to one of their partner workshops, and there was no problem with the insurance claim. Once they got the car done, I got the car back. But I lost my NCB too :(

I hope your whiplast gets better fast. *hugs*

  25. sheza Says:

I had two of those accidents before. I could not turn my head to the side without feeling the pain after the accident. Do go to a physiotherapist to get your whiplash straighten out. It helps in the healing process. You wouldn’t want recurrent pain in the future.

  26. razak Says:

I love the sound of twisted metal and seeing my cars bonnet protuding upwards is simply a sight to be behold!! and incident such as this makes us to become
    a better driver :)

  27. cina_sesat Says:

Glad that you got out of the accident with non-life threatening injuries. Sorry to hear about the car…

Hm… maybe you should get (someone to get you) one of those Tempurpedic/memory foam pillows. It’s a good excuse, ya? Can recover faster…

  28. cina_sesat Says:

for those who don’t know, NCB stands for “No Claims Bonus”. It’s an insurance term for the number of years that the policy holder did not request for a claim, leading to a discount in premium.
