It is very difficult to completely erase the memory of the loss of someone who you loved and cared so much. It happened to me personally. I have lost my dear son sixteen years ago due to leukemia, but tears could still flow down my cheeks whenever I narrated his stories to friends. The vacuum left by his passing away has never been filled, not by anything in this world.
