Fasting month…
Sometimes I wonder if Ramadhan is all about rushing off earlier so that you can beat the jams.
…
I work near Pantai Hospital, Bangsar. To get home, or to get to PJ (so that I can rush in time for the recent AsiaWorks meetings — yah I junkie, can?), I have to get past the Hockey Stadium, over the flyover and turn right into Lebuhraya Persekutuan.
On normal pre-fasting month days, no matter what time I get out of the office, the average time required of me to get back to where I live is about 20 minutes.
These days, if I don't leave the office by 5.00 pm, fat chance I can get to PJ within 45 minutes. On Monday I drove out of my lot at 5.30, and I only got to Crystal Plaza at 6.43 pm.
Traffic congestions caused by people rushing to get to the Pasar Ramadhan near Kg Baru — not very nice or holy right?
Actually, technically, since 'holy' means 'set apart', I support that's what being holy is all about lah. Being different, outstandingly so. The early off time is supposed to allow people to get home ASAP so that they can be with their families as they prepare to break fast kan?
So why on earth is the jam necessary?
Sorry if I'm sounding a mite insensitive here, but causing a jam kind of defeats the purpose of fasting kan?
…
Ok as usual I know I'm being overwhelmingly judgemental and generalizing. Better shut up now. Ta!

Hahah. I guess it’s the same reason why people flood places Makkah, Jerusalem and Akihabara :p After all, ‘holiness’ is just a vague concept that drives people to do weird things, just like politics, hahaha.
