We the christians should adopt universally the same worship or doing the things in church and should be applicable to one and all .
This way can build our own methodologies

Hi there, interesting blog (my first visit). This post definitely caught my eye. Confession: U know I went thru this phase once where I thought that anyone who was not ecstatic during music worship probably had a "dead" faith... sigh, that's why it's a called a journey I guess.

I like how Brian McLaren in Generous Orthodoxy made parallels of Charismatics and Contemplatives. (I paraphrase here, from what I can remember) Where the common thread is the pursuit of joy. For the Charismatics it's in the extraordinary and Contemplatives its the joy in the ordinary things, in the fullness of meditation.

On another tangent, there's always a socialisation aspect of conversion and joining a Christian community, and we pick up habits unconsciously.

All the best in wrestling and working out what "commitment" involves. It can be very beautiful...

God bless

Charismatic is a man-made term.

The imp thing is do you know God and does God knows you?
Do you live a happy and a fulfilled life for God?
Will they put these on your tombstone "she served God's purpose in her generation..."

Cheers,
Steven

As you know, I was a charismatic for a while, in the sense that I practised "charismania", but eventhough I prefer not to attend charismatic churches anymore (sorrylah, too scary for me) I still consider myself charismatic in the sense that I believe that the Holy Spirit is working miracles till this day and I believe in the Gifts of the Spirit.

It used to get me irritated when people spout Christianese at me, but now I'm more patient and just smile and try to divert the conversation to more interesting topics like ... the latest episode of Heroes.

Christians of all denominations are still the same as any other human. Imperfect.

I agree that there are some that tend to react as how this girl did, but I'd say a generalisation here is pretty unfair to all Charismatics.
