Twenty Seven!

Oinks. OK I know I HARDLY blog my life these days, but not everyone turns 27 every day, so this post is special. Lots of pics, be-warned!

I spent the entire day slouching over my laptop at my colleague's desk, that even when the florist came to deliver Eric's bouquet I didn't know about it. Poor guy had to wait till 6 pm, call me up to ask me, 'Eh you never receive anything meh?' before I realize that 'OMG yah hoh today is my birthday and my boyfriend hasn't given me anything…'

OK… I'm NOT really that materialistic lah. But the flowers, OH THE FLOWERS… 30 stalks of roses (OMG, biggest ever)… last years was amazing yes, but this years was a shocker (I'm still sore over not being able to receive and sign the slip from the delivery guys).

I don't ever share the notes he writes to me. But this year is special, so here it is.

Anyway today MORE than made up for it. I took the day off (thanks Boss) to celebrate the day belatedly, and slept it. Spent the morning out (gym, then food with mom, then shopped a bit, then got home) and then the boyfriend came for the 'let's make up for a day lost' birthday celebration.

He brought me for a porkie fest at El Cerdo. OMG the appetizers are too die for, and the mashed potatoes, easily the BEST I've ever eaten so far.

Sorry yah it's non-halal…

Oh yeah, before I forget about this… As he was driving us to the restaurant, he mentioned that he had bought me an additional gift and since it was so big he decided to put it in the boot. 'Remind me to get it out for you after dinner…'

'What did you buy lah?'

'Something big… huge lah.'

'Erm. Tell me what you buy lah.'

'Wait lah after dinner…'

After dinner Eric decided NOT to give me the gift yet so I was left playing a guessing game with him about 'what on earth did you get for me that's so huge?'

'Teddy bear? Big doll? Huge TV? A big kitchen cabinet?'

I know! The kinds of things we started tossing at each other just because I was too curious to wait for the surprise… Anyway, we got home (his home) at around 9+, and he got me to open the boot.

It was a HUGE frame, well, wrapped up in newsprint paper and tied with some string. 'Let's get it to my room to open it yah…'

BEHOLD THE GIFT!

Took me a long time to realize that the right middle finger had a ring drawn onto it… 'Don't you think it's odd that the girl in the drawing has an engagement ring and you don't?'

And then, HE POPPED THE QUESTION!
