January Jazz

I thought I'd be a little off-the-track today and opt for a totally un-me kind of topic. Okay, truth is, I'm sort of frozen in time, part of me wishes it's still 2007, another part of me still wants to be in 1997 and one big part of me is agonizing the fact that I ain't getting any younger.

Why yesterday I was keying in my stats on the treadmill, and when 'age' flashed across the meter, I reluctantly punched in the dreaded 28-years. OMG it's that fast already, I'm almost 30, I'm almost 30 (no offence to those who're already over 30, it's just I still don't want to grow up, but of course, that's been kind of obvious for the past few years).

My mother, for instance, has been terribly open about how her only kid is still reluctant to grow into the heels that she's obsessed on buying (you know when you start to own your own keep, and shoes are rather cheap where I work and stay, you keep buying them, say, an average of two pairs a week?)

My fiance, on the other hand, is an exasperating fellow to be with. Fresh from the ordeal of becoming thousands poorer (thanks to the splurge on the definitive proposal mechanism and materials), he's now stuck in a frustrating mode of 'I shall not give a damn about wedding plannings', leaving the bulk of the job to me. So dress, though I have told you that I do want you, your deposit shall have to wait till my ATM finds it fit to finally part with another One-Zero-Zero-Zero Ringgit.

I've morphed into the woman I've always feared of becoming. I've become increasing tolerant of fundamentalists, for instance, and I actually feel that Dr Chua Soi Lek should have been left to his own games (you know what? I prefer a sex-scandal-involved kind of politician anytime over a money-laundering-involved kind of politicians, after all both aren't really good but at least one keeps his dirty hands to the bedroom…) I've started to grow my nails out, and manicures have become a must every month, hence I note to myself here: I MUST STOP SPENDING…

It's the temptations of the times, Sir, and I need your help now now.

Jeezuz I'm ranting gibberish.

You know what? Its 3.30 and I'm 1/2 hour late for a meeting with my staff.

Later.

Hahaha! I like what you said about your preference over the politicians. I think I have the same preference too.

You know what? You’re not even married yet, so, still can spend lar. Imagine for a married person like who has no kids and have been married for 6 years. Every CNY is when all my money go out in the little red packets!!! Aiiks!

28 is a nice number, after 18. Right after 28 comes 32. After that, it goes back to 28 forever. :)

Maybe you get more hot after 30. Lots of young men seek women in their mid-30s because they’re just right. After 40 that’s another thing. :-(

when i’m at shopping malls, i always observe what makes ppl spend.
i found that it’s the warm cozy atmosphere and always the right tone of everything :)

when we went under the onslaught of continuous whats-not, we become tempered with age, mellowed, not tolerance but “let it all pass”, and then…just to sit down and enjoy our warm cup of tea…laughing along as the world goes by - we become more zen-like :)
