You are one selfish self-serving YB.
It takes just one drop of oil to pollute a bowl of water.
And you just dropped it into this new sea of hope with a huge splash.
…
In fact, let's take a look at it this way: obviously you've been doing the same bloody thing for 40+ years and you've gotten flack for all that shit you've done… and for such a long time you've been known as Mr Opposition, Mr very extreme politician.
At the end of the day I don't think you've even thinking about THE CHINESE for a start, right now from the way I read it, the way I perceive it, you're just thinking about your damn self, and worse still you're dragging along a whole bag of supporters with you.
…
I'll make it simple, cutting off all the rhetorics (too many other people have done it already), and I'll strip off the politics of the matter, and try to make it sound appeasing to you - assuming that you're the self-serving politician I now believe you to be:
Lessay you're looking for glory lah, okay? Lessay all you want at the end of the day is to one day become some ketua something of some cabinet in Malaysia lah okay?
You've done the same thing for so many years (40 plus kan) and you've never won the game. The one time you do something different, it obviously worked, this time you won it with a chance to make it to your goal very soon (lessay 5 years, not very far away) and for the FIRST TIME in history you get to see your name in the papers with a different tone to it. For the first time you already know that there are people who used to hate you, who've now started warming up to you. You already should see the signs, kan? That You're getting there, very very close to your goal.
What would you do? Make a U-turn and go back to the old, tak-jalan ways?
Or continue doing the right thing?
…
I've been blogging for 5 years, when I started I hated stupid people, but time washed over me and I mellowed… but 5 years on, in the aftermath of a history-making Elections, I still can't get over it… WHY ON EARTH ARE SOME PEOPLE JUST SO FREAKING STUPID?

Everybody needs to change their old ways. Lim Jr and Sr need to tone down, PAS gotta improve their (perhaps perceived) Taliban image, Melayus need to warm to the idea of reviewing the NEP.
Right now many Melayus feel like traitors for voting against BN/UMNO, likewise the Chinese are for voting PAS.
Evolution is slow. We have to be patient.

hi minishorts,
think maybe you shouldn’t be so harsh on him lar…
i think it was one big sandiwara bcos he could not have just stayed quiet… his other supporters would have vilified him for it…. so he had to at least make some noise about it… and then later quickly apologise for it… me thinks it was all planned lar…
if you read his statement on his blog, at no point did he use strong words like “we strongly protest” “we object” “we refuse to accept” etc etc…. he merely said they were shocked… and the reps should stay away from the ceremony… in fact, he didn’t even say he felt personally angry etc (which if you read his other stuff, he will definitely say so if he was angry)…. so the statement wasn’t very “him”…
that’s why i think he’s been been put up for the slaughter so that it would seem that dap the party did try to do something in case it cropped up later (i think they are still scared of 1999 where they lost big time due to their then alliance with pas)
oh well…
all “marriages” have their teething problems…

Minishorts doesn’t understand the finer points of a “sandiwara”.
Even if I did, this was hardly the time to play the drama-king.

But it worked, didn’t it? Because of LKS’s shadow play, MCA and Gerakan’s accusations of DAP going back on their promise by supporting PAS did not hold much water. And seeing the people’s support for Nizar in spite of Lim’s words only served to further discredit Ong Ka Chuan’s claim that Chinese will never accept a PAS member as their chief minister.
Yup, I agree it was damn risky but Kit knows what he’s doing. It was a gamble which paid off.

Politicians on either side will wanna fish for their capital. Whether it succeed or fail, you and I decide it.
