Get well soon please.
Today Astro is still not very well. Poo has gone from watery to pasty, and the poor little boy is so much thinner now. The doctor is giving him Baytril through injections (and he sits so still when they put the needle into him), oral glucose, and flagyl syrup for his little tummy.
I wonder why rabbits are so fragile.
Really miss the time when Astro was naughty and well. See! What a naughty boy he was…
I'm hopeful, a little, I really wish he will be okay. When I visited him today, and I opened the cage, to my delight he hopped out and started walking around the hospital floors… the sad thing is that when I stooped to pick him up, he didn't kick like he always would, he just sat in my hands and waited for me to put him back into the cage…
I hope to bring him home soon. Please keep praying ya! I know it works.

I read somewhere online that rabbits actually evolved to not respond under duress, it’s a survival mechanism so that they don’t get caught by predators from the shivering in fear or flinching under pain giving them away.

Hi there,
I used to have the same kind of rabbit as you and it died of the same reason as your previous one. What i learnt was, these type of rabbits are very very sensitive towards dirt, bacteria from the hands that hold him (the love to lick and eat anything) and any forms of stress. You have to be very careful with them when they are this young, but i think they will grow out of it when they are older.
It is heartbreaking to have such a cutie thing so sick and helpless. My little dash was died after 4 weeks with me, spent 3 days at the vet, they had to shave this hair at the bottom cause the poo was just too runny and sticky causing more bacteria to grow.
But you are going great with Astro, and i am sure he will get through this. Good Luck!
