Stepping closer…
Less than two months to the wedding.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock! Scared or not, girl? Worried or not? You've just been an adult for less than a decade and now suddenly you're stepping into the strange new territory of marriage.
I won't say it doesn't freak me out – because it does. Already my vocabulary is changing, my concerns are changing. At shopping malls instead of checking out the clothes and accessories, I visit Home DIY stores all the time. I'm checking out crazy bargains by scouring through the Metro section and looking out for warehouse sales on not shoes, not clothes, not makeup, but cooking pans and woks. At furniture malls we spend time lying down on beds and rolling around, 'Dear if I roll and shake the bed like this do you feel it on your end?'
My future sister in law tells me that when you're pregnant, the quality of a bed makes all the difference and you really don't want to cause your spouse sleepless nights just because the extra weight in your belly makes you turn around in bed a whole lot more.
At the Matta fair we had a mini argument over priorities, at the counter!
'I've never been to Bali in my life..'
'We can go there again mah…. I wanna stay at a REALLY REALLY luxurious place, just you and me, and we can stay in the hotel all day…'
'WTF… What you want me to do in the hotel all day…'
'Do what people on honeymoons do lah. Eat, sleep, kiss, spa, relax… eh give you five days four nights in a personal villa you don't want ah?' Eric said.
'Want. But NOT THE SAME VILLA. Five days four nights in the same freaking place will bore the shit out of me… plus its not cheap ok!'
In the end we settled for Blue Point Bay Uluwatu and then the Ubud Hanging Gardens. Two nights of each.
You know I'm looking forward more to the honeymoon than to the wedding? Please tell me this is normal.

My wedding is on Dec 08, and Yes, i definitely looking forward to the honeymoon more than to the wedding.
Wedding ceremony (especially chinese wedding ceremony) are for the sake of our old folks to see and brag among themselves, nothing much than that. i would prefer to had a very ve;ry very simple wedding and spend the rest of extra $$$ on honeymoon.

Cheers

Hi there!
First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding!:)
I am sure it’s always normal to be looking forward to your wedding- the seal of your love for each other.
However, when the wedding plans start to come into the picture and the hassle (not to mention the pressure) of setting things right and perfect the way you want it, you will want this whole deal to be over and enjoy your blissful marriage time with each other as newlyweds in your new phase of life; hence the more looking forward to the honeymoon part:)
I am analyzing this more on a logical and psychological behavior (but I am not psychologist yea:)
I am sure your wedding date is near and trust me, your cold feet will disappear once you step into your beautiful gown and link hands with your husband. Although I am not married yet, I can picture the harmony that will ensue your wonderful union with each other.
So, just focus on how beautiful you want to look on that BIG day and I wish you an endless happiness:)
P.S.: Your pair of shoes is really beautiful!!;)

”WTF… What you want me to do in the hotel all day…”
Hmmm, 30 minutes sex, 23 hours 30 minutes sleeping it off.
Or maybe he’s taking his playstation along.

Speaking from experience here, this is perfectly normal. So don’t worry. Just enjoy the process and your wedding day. Most importantly, enjoy more in your honeymoon. You definitely deserve it. Happy wedding!

My wedding was in May and yes, was I ever looking forward to the Honeymoon! Bali is amazing and you made the right decision to just spend 2 days in each resort. In Ubud, do visit the Alila Ubud for lunch/dinner and a swim – the pool is awesome!(you might want to check ahead if the pool is open to outside guests, though)

Hey, you would love Bali! A perfect place for honeymoon.. not that i’ve had my honeymoon there but it is a real amazing and romantic place. So, have fun preparing for the wedding, enjoy the great day and of course the honeymoon that follows..!

looking forward more to the wedding than honeymoon cuz honeymoon has to be this one big romantic thing but what if it doesn’t live up to it…

Sorry for the butting in…but where wedding is concerned, I rather take it easy on the big day and go for the honey straight if that is possible. Stress mine out for the preparation. But then again got good photog. So if you must stress, make sure you squeeze the photog and videog kaw-kaw so that you have an eternity to remenber those moments whether still or moving still, anytime, anywhere
Good luck
