From Michael to Mikaeel
Nov 24th
The latest news to come to the world of Islam (or at least, people like us in Malaysia, who live in a so-called Islamic environment) is the news that Michael Jackson has converted to Islam and is now Mikaeel Jackson.
MJ has been widely labelled as whacked in the head, and over the years, has degenerated from the revered King of Pop with the awesome Moonwalk to Mr Wacko Plastic Surgery Gone Botch Child Molester Bankrupt Yesterday's News. My pal Edrei who is still fuming over the Yoga and Tomboy bans those 'holier powers that be' in Malaysia have decreed over those who embrace the peace-loving faith called Islam thinks that Michael Jackson's conversion is simply proof that insane people become religious.
Is it good news? I hope so.
But right now, I think its the funniest funniest news that I've heard lately, and it trails slightly behind the crazy Yoga and -yo girl you cannot wear pants and have short hair because you look like a tomboy- bans.

Never in a million years would I imagine myself actually NOT WORKING after my wedding. But it's true, because the starting date won't be till next month, I've found myself in the shoes of a stay-at-home wife, the type who goes to the gym at 9 am in the morning and hangs out at shopping centres watching the people walk past, and then spends the afternoon at my mom's place before retiring home by 5 pm to prepare dinner for the Good Husband who will be home from work by 7.30 pm.
Aduh, cannot lah this. I think I'm going to ask Eric if he'd mind me pretending to work while actually surfing the net at his office. Or, I don't mind playing his mini PA (althought I suspect while we make a good married couple, we won't work very well together).
The whole lot of photos (Part 1)
Nov 18th
We're already being swamped with things to do, and the photos are trickling in. Eight cameras in total (discounting the compacts and phone cameras other people bring around), so imagine the headache. I am supposed to make another Blurb for the occasion, but with some more dvds 'somewhere out there', it looks like that personal project to commerate the big day is going to take a while longer.
My God brother Steven was the fastest to load the photos to Facebook, all three albums full. And btw, if you know Jasemaine who sings really well, she was there at the wedding too, as the FEMALE photographer who gave my favourite photo of the lot:
I think this is gorgeously captured. Check out more photos at her site, and if you're getting married soon, give the girl a call ok? She's got a great camera eye IMHO.
I haven't yet sieved through Leonard's photographs, but he's promised to give me the dvd slide show they made of the day's event which we played during the dinner, so when that comes I'll load it to YouTube and post the video here.
Well, I'm going back to fixing up that photobook of mine, and then compiling another set of photos from the Honeymoon, because everyone's now asking about the honeymoon and whether there are photos to show (like duh). So here's the busy wife's job for now, lots of photo uploading, lots of photoshopping and many many hours of page layout-ing. That's my post-wedding life for now.
Hola from the newly weds!

Dear family and friends,
Bali is amazing fun and the 'travel alert' issued by the several governments didn't deter us from invading Uluwatu, Kuta, Ubud, and even Ground Zero where the bombing occured. The surfer guys have awesome bods, and Eric's just upset that there's more men to watch than women to oogle at (most of the ladies who come here on holiday are very rich, very married and very aunty-like, and they walk around in their skimpy bikinis trying to look young (no I'm not kidding).
The food here is *sinfully calorie-packed* and we loved Ibu Oka's Babi Guling so much we bought another pack back to our villa to suckle on the succulent pork flesh. Yum yum I'd make the trip back just for another mouthful.
The two hotels were awesome, and I guess when you tell people you're on honeymoon, people go out of their way to treat you better. Oh oh, and the place where we're at now, where this photo was taken, is called the Ubud Hanging Gardens. The villa we got simply redefines luxury – we get our very own private infinity pool outside our villa, and everyday Eric and I have been swimming in the buff! Honeymoons don't get better than this….
We love Bali to bits, but being away for too long makes us miss home, plus being the workaholics we both are, we just can't wait to get back home. So Mum, and Mum, family and friends, we're coming back soon, and then I'll have the time to gather the photos from everywhere, and we'll be having a series of 'what happened before and after the wedding' just to keep us in the honeymoon mode for as long as we can (Eric says we should tell ourselves that we're always in honeymoon mode so that we'll take extra efforts to make each other happy and I think he's very very right!).
Anyway, we have to go … lots of photos to take out of my camera before tomorrow begins. Till the next time, have fun and do know that we miss and love you all.
Blessing and kisses from Bali
