Who says its a religious issue?

I hardly think it unreasonable to consider the Israel-led bombings as a strategic defensive reaction towards the random acts of suicide terrorism upon its civilians over the years past.

In the same way I think it is unreasonable for some religious parties in this country called Malaysia to call upon a boycott of Made-in-Israel, or consecutively, Made-in-The-USA goods.

Like I have previously mentioned, this shouldn't be a religious issue. Or to be more factually precise, IMHO, the whole Israeli-Palestinian saga (decades in the making) isn't even halfway about religion, although the world and its newsmakers would like us to believe so. And it isn't even because some smart aleck keeps mentioning, there are Christian Palestinians also amongst the victims.

It is such a sinful way to call upon the world to care. Since when was it ever about putting our hearts and souls to people in suffering ONLY because 'there are Christian palestinians also'? In the same way, since when was it only an Islamic concern that Israel is bombing Palestine?

And dare I say, since when was it only a Jewish concern that Islamic fanatics have resorted to suicide bombings to make their point known?

So if you want to boycott those made-in-somewhere related to those 'damned Yahudis' goods, rethink your motivations. Is it because you hate Israel or is it because you hate war? If you're concerned about Palestine, is because of  the sovereignity YOUR RELIGION? Or is it because your religion teaches you to uphold peace? Splitting hairs, yes, but where has humanity gone if we keep organizing ourselves into parcelized labels, separated by our different opinions of what an omniscient God should be like?

I think God must be despaired by all this selfishness.

  1. war is the language of man, not God. to say otherwise is to use His name in vain. sigh.

  2. What do you mean decades in the making?

This war has been going on for almost two thousand years now!

  3. on hindsight, there’s no such thing as “made in israel” stuff in malaysia.

Duh. How can there be? For Malaysia, Israel doesn’t exist.

I agree with your analysis of this issue. The entire reason for Israel
going into Gaza, is that when Israel agreed to pull the IDF out, part of the so-called peace accord, was that the local government in Gaza would no longer allow Hamas or other militant groups to shoot rockets or motars into Israel. That did not last long. For more than 6 months, over 6,000 rockets and motars rounds have been fired into Israel. All this time Israel did not send any ground forces into Gaza. Hamas has as a stated goal, the elimination of the state of Israel, and to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible.

Hamas has fired weapons from sites inside of shcool grounds, and from next to residences and hospitals.

Israel did nothing for months, except take the attacks and watched as innocent civilians, including children were murdered.

The end to the violence and hatred in this part of the middle-east is a daunting task, that all parties who have attempted to broker any kind of lasting peace, have failed to achieve.
