Back at work
Filed under Parenting & kids
Well, with time always running at breakneck speed, here I am back at the office again. This time around I've returned to work a working mummy, with an additional cooler bag with empty bottles and a box to store my trusty old Medela Harmony. Prior to starting work I've been pumping like crazy – and all the hard work has paid off, I've managed to stock up 30 three-ounce bottles of milk for my baby boy.
The goal is to keep on pumping as much as possible with the hope that my milk supply will gradually increase. (I have a friend who can get 16 ounces PER PUMP! Imagine!)
In the meantime, I'm missing Paul tremendously. *Sniff* Mama is coming home soon!
P.S. You knew some time ago that this site will soon evolve into a mommy site right?

Claire, it is unfortunate that you had to return to work so soon.
Paul is at an age when interactions with parents are very important.
Of course this need does not diminish until Paul is already an adult.
Do take care of yourself and try to avoid falling into trying to be a supermom. You and Eric face the challenge of finding time for your relationship, and being parents.
I wish you all the best!

Hey medela harmony is a manual pump right? how did you manage to pump manualy? i mean isnt it too much work? did you supplement ur baby with fomula at all?
my baby is 4 months old now, i m pumping too.. using medela mini E and ameda(occationally) if ur baby have trouble to latch on. keep pumping is no mistake.. tat’s wat i did.
regards,
winnie
well to answer your questions, i don’t find it ‘too much’ work’ so it’s ok. the problem is i’m in the PR line so i’m on the run, finding a powerpoint is a problem for me, so I use a manual pump most of the time. At home i use the Spectra 3. No, I don’t supplement my baby with formula, it’s total breastmilk for now.

Congratulations…your baby will grow up to be a snake and spew evil venom just like his bitchy mom.

@Elsie:
At first I was completely disgusted at your ‘bitchy’ comment, but after a few moments reflection it dawned on me that the only people who is going to be affected by your spite and negativity are your children (if you are blessed enough to have any). I do hope, for their sake, they will not have to suffer to much for your mistakes and will be duly compensated.
Take care and I hope you find peace within.
