Joining The Maxis 10 Programme
Jul 5th
Those of you active on Twitterjaya would know of the Maxis Reviewer's Programme, an ongoing social media campaign that invites interested bloggers to write in with their interest to review a phone on the Maxis's offering list. The programme kicked off over a month ago with the HTC Desire, where 10 lucky bloggers were given a brand new piece of the phone to use, test and write reviews about for two weeks. Later, they were all allowed to keep the phone.
Oh wow. *AKU NAK JUGAK.*
Therefore, of course, inevitably, as expected, when Maxis revealed that they were going to do another round of Maxis 10 and this time, the phone for the review was the Samsung Galaxy S, (the one they claimed to be an iPhone killer), I was interested. Two other reasons fueled this interest, actually. The first, my current phone (Nokia Music Xpress 5800) it has a knack of dying on me when I need it most. And then the second, Eric's got the iPhone 3Gs which launched him off on a recent Apple craze (buying himself the MacBook Pro and the iPod Shuffle within a single week), and I'm kinda interested in getting him to divert his attention elsewhere, dilute Apple's current monopoly on my family's gadget-investments for a while…
Alas, this time around, the participation required 'more work' from people with vested interests. Submit an audition video (OMG!). I took the easy way out actually, and Eric said I kinda exploited my kid for this (see me smile weakly and meekly here) .. but well, Paul is such a willing star in all of my videos… and he's just too awesomely cute in this video… HERE I AM SHARING IT.
With my squeaky voice and Paul's waving and kicking, this mother-and-son duo made it into the selected 10 reviewers list! That was how I manage to grab hold of this…
… which I get to play with for two whole weeks!
It's been a long long time since I last went so commercial and did reviews, and it would be fun to test these rusty brains of mine long infected with baby's brain since marriage and the pregnancy.
And so, here we go!
