How to: Add Widgets to your Samsung Galaxy S Homescreen
Filed under Advertorial
I've got people asking me how to do the add widget thing, and at first I wanted to do this via a screen=shot step by step tutorial… then it got too confusing for me to do the cutting and pasting.
So lazy old me decided to do a video explanation instead. *hic*
Ok, so I got carried away and there's also me going on about how to change to live wallpapers, and how I didn't like the stock photos that came with the Galaxy S. However, I still stick to this: the thing I love the most about the Galaxy S is its flexibility and customizable opportunities. The good part is you don't have to rely on just phone covers and protectors to define your phone; I'd think that no two Samsung Galaxy Ss are ever the same because every owner would definitely dress up his home screen in a different way.
…
Oh oh!!! Galvin Tan was nice enough to help me test out the Video Function, and it works pretty well. Coupled with a pretty steady Maxis 3G coverage, I thought the video call was really nifty… of course there's a certain lag in the conversations and Galvin looks pixelated in the video, but otherwise, I can only imagine that with the constant upgrading of mobile networks by Maxis, things can only get better. BTW, Galvin's one of the #Maxis10 reviewers for the phone, and you should really check out his blog, he's got a series of Hokkien Ah Long The Reviewer videos available there and they are SUPERB!!!
Anyway, here's the video that we did. *Notice my hubby manning the camera in the background wheee, Eric so sayang me*.

there are fewer apps compared to the iphone but it’s less hassle to download them in comparison isn’t it?
oh and it’s surprisingly light with a handy shape! and the interface is really attractive.

I like that it’s slimmer than iphone. Not so bulky. Are there plans for any other optional covers for the phone or something?

Probably completely off topic but hoping someone can point me in right direction. Had my Galaxy S for 3 days and managed to delete a widget by accident I would like back. It showed what applications were active and could close them from within it ……looked like a slide bar – does anyone know what its called and where I can get it from please?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S, I had a BlackBerry Curve, I like the Samsung and will probably keep it, but I do have one issue. Because I travel a lot for work I do eat out 6 to 7 days a week. (True!!) With the BlackBerry I once left it in a restaurant in Houston and didn’t notice that until I got to New Orleans LA. The manager there called my home and left a message and then latter mailed it to me. My name and address was easly attainable by simply moving the tracking ball. On the Samsung is there a way to put one’s address on the opening screen? Would you please tell me how to do this.
